Stand up paddle board rental

Shining Waters Marina and Boatyard is pleased to offer Stand-up Paddle Board Rentals and Sales for the season via our BoatStore / Waterfront Crew.

Stand-up Paddle Boarding is a growing water sport with many benefits for people of all ages and abilities. At it’s core, fun on the water that can be shared with friends and family in a new way! Explore shallow coves you’d never dare take a boat, hone your balance all in a quiet and serene natural environment are just a few of the things that you’ll appreciate quickly on a SUP. Our SUP aficionado Tim has selected a range of ‘hard’* Starboard Paddle boards suited to new paddlers and touring lovers alike and all the conditions our beautiful Bay presents with some brand new 4 in 1 board that can be set up to optimize stability further for anyone who’s a little nervous about their balance to enjoy this amazing activity. Did you know that with quick access to the sheltered Longards Cove, any new SUP paddler can independently practice their balance and paddling without worry bordering on our beautiful property with over 1500 feet X almost 500 feet of space to play without worry of getting too far from home.

The Head of St. Margaret’s Bay offers numerous Coves and smaller bays to play with a chance of stopping over to White Sails Bakery for a snack and keeps you still close to SWM even on a windier day.

For the adventurers out there that might be a little more experienced, Clam Island and or Macoos are perfect day trips to take the board exploring into what is a traditional sea breeze with a fun downwind ride home.  Safety first though, we are going to make sure you have a way to communicate with our team either ensuring you have a waterproof phone case in the event of changing winds/ tides or you simply get tired.  We are here to help! Phone cases will be available for sale or rent at our BOATSTORE.

Want to take a board on a longer trip to explore further afield, we have boat stanchion mount racks specifically designed to carry your board safely on trips where you can use the board to explore from larger vessels while on the hook etc.

St. Margaret’s Bay has conditions that favour all paddlers. Don’t forget the first rule of paddling, always travel into the wind first so you have less work to get back at the end of your SUP adventure.
