Clean Yard Concept

We have spent a lot of time and effort cleaning up our beautiful site.  From zip ties, metals, grommets to micro plastics/ food packaging waste and recyclables left under, around and over; We’ve tried to collect it all and dispose/ recycle accordingly.  Our love of the water and our affect on the natural environment around us is important.  The cleanliness of the site for our clients and visitors is equally important.

We are actioning a new approach to yard/ waterfront cleanliness and neighboring vessel thoughtfulness we hope our clients and visitors will appreciate and support 100%.  We are hopeful that each owner and visiting service provider will take the same pride in their general area as we do for the whole site.  We appreciate your review and consideration to keep our yard clean for ALL users to the benefit of both your vessel neighbors, our waterfront and broader community at large.

  • If you’re planning a more intensive maintenance year for the 2023 season, let us know, we’ll be happy to ensure that a dedicated bin is delivered to your vessel/ site, and you’ll have our yard crews’ cell to call for pickup/ disposal. No charges here, just make sure your garbage is bagged and not loosely thrown into the bins. While we don’t have a bin for every vessel site, we are going to work diligently this year to ensure all bins are emptied when nearly full.

  • If your bottom paint is thick and you’ll be sanding down several layers, we will be communicating a new ask for our clients that addresses tarping/ drop cloths etc. If you’re looking ahead at a light sanding, a simple drop cloth that can be moved below your working area is all you’ll need to do.

  • If you envision a larger sanding project with powered sanders/ media blasting contractors etc., we will be asking clients to let us know and take precautions (tarping) around your working area and plastic from the top of the hull to the ground to ensure that other client’s vessels aren’t covered in the bottom paint which has affect both in their workload and often generates complaints. Here, we’ll be happy to offer a quick lift at a ½ rate for the machine to better ensure no contamination to the ground or any neighbouring vessels.

  • We have a bin for everything including used fuel/ waste oil/ filters, used oil containers standard recycling (Paper/ Cardboard and Plastics) as well as a new bin for those pesky 1lb propane bottles that seem to get mixed in with everything else or simply left for our yard crew to collect. Please ensure that you familiarize yourself with the locations of our recycling centre (near the Quonset Hut) which will be better labelled this year and central in the yard. ALL OF THESE ITEMS ARE DISPOSED OF RESPONSIBLY THROUGH OUR PARTNERSHIP WITH “CLEAN EARTH TECHNOLOGY” AND THEIR AFFILATES.

  • It should be noted that if there is a departure from these procedures and any owner/ contractor is found to be in contravention of these best practices, they will be held responsible for the clean up via our crew at the standard shop rate $99.00 plus HST per hour per person or a suitable clean up crew will be brought in at the cost to the owner.

We fully appreciate a lot of time/ maintenance/ consumables help make your vessel and boating experience in general more enjoyable and reliable.  Let’s all take a little extra time/ consideration this coming season to make that dedication to our vessels a cleaner process benefiting our remarkable location and your neighbouring boating enthusiast!
