Visiting Yachts
Located at the head of St. Margaret's Bay, Shining Waters Marina is the perfect place to stop along your journey while being a destination unto itself with Customs Clearance Services available with prior notification.
We offer slips and moorings for visiting boats, pre booking required through our marina office. Please complete the ‘Visiting Yacht’ form below and e-mail it to jill@shiningwaters.ca to request short term moorage & dockage. Longer term clients come for the summer and will often choose to haul and store for the winter looking to benefit from maintenance/ storage/ services with tax benefits for international clients.

Featuring some of the most beautiful and protected islands on the South Shore, day trips and or deep-water protected anchorages where you can explore more and visit these remarkable islands and take in some of the many St. Margaret’s Bay attractions and experiences.

Haul/Launch
We can accommodate power and sailboats up to 50T and 16’ wide via Travel-lift and up to 30T, 29’ wide, including catamarans with our hydraulic trailers. Our operators are certified for Travel lift and Conolift. We have a pay per use 29’ wide boat launch, available with personal and commercial rates.
Our 50-ton Marine Travel Lift can support vessels 17 feet wide and up to 65 feet long we can get you in and out of the water safely. We have a highly experienced/ trained Yard Crew to make sure your lift goes smoothly. Our slings are tested every year and replaced every other year. Our machine goes through a rigorous inspection annually to make sure we are ready for launch/ haul assurances.
Dockage/Moorage & Waterfront
We have 60+ seasonal and transient docks as well as 35+ moorings. Laundry, washrooms, and shower facilities are located on the side of our chandlery.
We offer a concrete launch ramp that is safe and easy to use. With a dock and deep water access the ramp is perfect for trailer boats. You can purchase a day pass, weekend pass or seasonal pass. Please refer to the price list for launch ramp pricing.
We offer 35 + deep water moorings with holding strengths for over 60-foot boats. Our Moorings are inspected annually with a full replace/ reposition program in place for summer 2023. Depending on the size of your boat and availability, we can typically accommodate you for a short stay or for the season.
Land Storage
Our site offers 5+ Acres of Dry Land Storage with options for indoor heated for boats up to 30’ in height. The yard features a robust system to ensure all marine waste, garbage and waste oils etc. are handled by professionals in an environmentally friendly way.
Chandlery
Located on the lower level next to the main wharf, our small chandlery has a selection of paint and supplies, anodes, thru hulls, oils and cleaning supplies.
We are a Tohatsu and Yanmar dealer and have a wide selection of parts in stock. In addition we stock Tohatsu outboards, 3.5Hp - 9.8HP and can order in larger sizes if requested.

We are located at 148 Nautical Way, Tantallon on beautiful St. Margaret’s Bay, Nova Scotia CANADA. Our location is in a beautiful rural setting that is close to everything at 25 minutes from Halifax and only 40 minutes
Repair Service
We have a certified Marine Service Technician as well as a certified Boat Builder on staff. We repair all brands, gas, diesel, electrical repairs and installation, all marine systems, including wood boats.

If you are traveling from outside Canada and require repair service, please contact us to learn more about work and travel permits available for your vessel.
Lifting equipment / forklifts
Our fleet of maintained support equipment include 35 Ton hydraulic trailer, a 15 ton hydraulic 2 types forklifts enabling our crew to get your service work done safely and with ease. Crane services are contracted through our certified/ insured partners for mast days and or can be brought in on spec for specific project requirements.
Boat Yard Services
We offer power washing, bottom painting and are a drop off, pick up site for North Sails/The Yacht Shop.
We offer winter battery storage, tender and outboard storage in our heated space. In addition, if you need a place to store your canvas, sails or other gear, we can accommodate this as well.
Dockside fuel / water pump out
We offer Gasoline/ Diesel fuel at the dockside. The fuel pumps are open the same as the Boating Store Hours and we accept Visa/MC/Debit or Cash for payment.
Dockside fuel is priced at time of delivery +8% cost for your planning ease. Need a larger load, let us know and we’ll arrange buck fuel delivery around your arrival and ensure we don’t run out!
No Charge water tank fill up with pump outs available upon request and priced based on time to complete the process per both Transport Canada laws all with the aim to keep our Bay/ Ocean clean.
