Our Chef
Chef Chris Burton has cooked from coast to coast. With more than 17 years of experience in the culinary industry, he has been cooking delectable meals and creating unique dishes. Originally from a commercial fishing family, Chris grew up on the West Coast, where he worked at some of British Columbia’s most heralded culinary spots including: Nicklaus North Golf Course, The Fairmont Hotel Vancouver and Joe Forte’s.

His love of travel and his passion for the sea, lead him to Nova Scotia, where he currently resides just outside of St. Margaret’s Bay with his wife and two children. He worked at both the Five Fishermen and Seven Restaurant in Halifax before being lured to Shining Waters.
Chef Burton’s inspiration comes from using seasonal, local produce and seafood, combining it with some of his favourite global tastes to bring a unique touch to each dish he creates.
A graduate of the Fairmont Culinary University, Chris apprenticed under the watchful eye of Chef Robert LeCromb at the Hotel Vancouver.
